Let’s face it, you can’t re-use everything. There are some things that can be only used once. Take toilet paper, for example, if you’re trying to re-use the same paper over and over again, it’s not just disgusting, but also a health hazard.
But we can’t really ignore the fact that millions of trees are cut each month to make toilet paper. So how do we switch to sustainable alternatives in this case? Turns out, there are a few eco friendly toilet paper brands out there, and here are the top 8 of them.
Who gives a crap
When it comes to buying sustainable toilet paper, Who gives a crap is a company that definitely stands out from the competition. Made from 100% recycled paper, the company has also taken the initiative not to use any chemicals to dye or scent their paper, and provide one of the longest paper rolls in the market.
The only downside is that the rolls don’t come in smaller sizes, and naturally, the rolls being larger would also have a higher price. In fact, it is one of the most expensive rolls on the list, but we’re talking about 400 sheets in a single roll here, so it still has some value for money.
Compact Coreless toilet paper
You know a company is good when it finds a way to be sustainable in ways you would have never thought of. Ever notice that small cardboard core in the middle of the toilet rolls that you always throw away? Yeah, these guys have removed that all together to make a thick recycled toilet paper roll!
This eco friendly toilet paper brand offers around 1000 sheets in a single roll thanks to the removal of the core, and offer discounts on buying in bulk too (obviously none of us go out to buy just one toilet paper roll). The downside? The rolls aren’t completely made of recycled paper like the previous one, but the company does claim to have at least 25 percent recyclable content in every roll.
Seventh Generation
A rainforest alliance certified partner, Seventh Generation provides customers with recycled toilet paper as well as kitchen rolls. The rolls are made from 100% recycled paper and are free of any chemicals such as dyes or scents.
The company has also enforced the use of 100% recyclable plastic to package its rolls, as well as 100% recycled cardboard for the packing boxes. The company, however, only ships in bulk (which isn’t a real problem for most of us), and only packs around 240 sheets per roll, which isn’t a lot.
Caboo
As hinted by the name, Caboo uses ingredients made from sugarcane and bamboo, which are fast-growing and sustainable, unlike trees, offering customers an eco friendly toilet paper experience. The company claims to make rolls that are fully biodegradable, and are also hypoallergenic, BPA-free, fragrance-free, and chemical-free.
The company is also accredited with BRC Global Standards and is panda-friendly. The rolls, however, aren’t that cheap; with creating bamboo-based rolls being more expensive than traditional toilet rolls, the paper costs around $0.40 per 100 sheets.
Freedom Living
If you’re often traveling in your RV or caravan, then the septic tank-safe toilet roll is the best option for you. The company claims to be the premier eco friendly toilet paper brand for travelers. The tissues fully dissolve after use and are yet strong enough to withstand rough handling.
The tissues are also fully biodegradable which makes them great especially in an age where the world is filled with plastic and other forms of non-biodegradable waste. With around 500 sheets per roll, you would never have to think of running out of toilet paper on the go. However, the toilet paper rolls are pretty expensive, costing about $15 for just 4 rolls of paper.
Marcal
One of the cheapest and greenest toilet paper brands at the same time, Marcal creates toilet paper made from 100% recycled ingredients and is Green Seal certified. It’s not the biggest toilet roll in the market, having only 330 sheets per roll, but it’s surely one of the greenest. The highly absorbent tissue is also chemical-free and septic safe.
The company only ships in large packages with 48 rolls in a single package, which is probably one downside to buying these rolls, but with around $0.16 per 100 sheets, it’s great value for money.
WholeRoll
WholeRoll has dedicated itself to producing high-quality organic bamboo toilet paper rolls. The company provides packs of 18 rolls equivalent to 45 rolls of traditional tissue paper, and claim to have no chemicals, dyes, and fragrances.
The company has also partnered with the Arbour foundation, and with every pack bought the company plants a tree in gulf coast regions and areas devastated by natural disasters.
Aria Premium
The final eco friendly toilet paper brand is for customers who demand a premium experience even with their toilet rolls. The company claims to provide extra strong toilet paper with 50% more thickness than traditional paper. The company dedicates itself to the eco-friendly cause not just by producing unscented, chemical-free toilet paper, but also by planting 3 trees for every pack bought by a customer.
The company is Sustainable Forestry Initiative certified and uses ingredients from responsibly sourced trees. The downside, however, is that the premium toilet paper experience comes at a cost, so it isn’t exactly cheap (but then again, the benefits also match the price).
Admiring the dedication you put into your website and detailed information you offer.

Heya! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing
a few months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any solutions to stop hackers?
It’s in fact very complex in this active life to listen news on TV,
thus I only use the web for that purpose, and obtain the most up-to-date news.
With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any issues
of plagorism or copyright violation? My blog has a lot of
exclusive content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it
up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any
techniques to help prevent content from being ripped off? I’d genuinely appreciate it.
My brother recommended I may like this blog. He used to be entirely right.
