Although there is a huge number of people moving towards a more eco friendly lifestyle, there are still some, who, despite everything around them, say why becoming eco friendly is so important for them, why going green is the solution to the world’s problems, and does the queen of England really exist? Well, for all you geniuses out there, here are 5 reasons why going green is one of the most important things you should do. (And yes, the queen of England exists…)
Pollution
There’s no denying it, what we had for a planet a few decades ago is majorly different from what we’ve turned it into today. Millions of tons of waste being added to the sea, hundreds and thousands of tons of waste being deposited into the landfills, and cities filled with so much smog you can barely see your own hands. The amount of pollution we have built for ourselves is simply too much and it’s affecting not just humans, but plants, animals and even insects.
This pollution needs to go, and needs to go fast, but even with the efforts being made, we’re simply filling the landfills faster than they can be cleared up. So the next time you’re buying that disposable water bottle, think about the environment.
Limited resources
Believe me, there is no planet ‘B’ for anyone, we’re all born on this planet and almost all of us are going to die on this planet. Although we may be able to reproduce ourselves, the resources we have, such as the fuels we get from Earth, do not reproduce. In fact, millions of tons of coal, gas and oil are being used every single day, and if we keep this up, one day we won’t have anything left, and if we don’t have resources, we probably don’t have a lot to survive on. Before you know it, we’re going to have a real life version of the Hunger games, what fun!
Quality of Life
You might have heard that people used to age less often in the past, and used to live a more healthier and active life. People used to travel miles on their own feet without breaking a sweat, and never seemed to age even when they were 50. Look at us now, we can’t even climb up the stairs without losing our breath.
It’s not just because of the fact that we’ve become so lazy and accustomed to technology that we don’t even cook our own food (well, that too), but the quality of air and the environment around us has depleted so much that we no longer have the energy left to do anything. That phrase about everything in nature being connected we hear in the movies, that’s no joke; turns out we really are. If we change ourselves, we will surely improve our lifestyle as well.
You’ll save money!
Ah there’s the topic everyone wants to hear. Everybody wants to have a bit of extra cash in their pockets, even the worst of us. Turns out going green can actually help you get that extra cash you need. Since you start reusing everything around you, there’s no need to start buying unnecessary stuff like extra water bottles or plastic bags. Not only do you save money, but you also find your house cleaner with no extra effort. The best part, you don’t really need to start buying heavy duty stuff like solar panels, but even the little things can help big time, how cool is that?
Think about the children
You might have children, you might not have children but you would have thought about having children, or you might even not want children in the future as well, but just think about the children and the childhood they’re having, and the childhood you had, and you’ll realize why becoming eco friendly is so important. Playing in parks that have now become industrial hubs, jumping on the rocks across the streams that have become a haven for waste, just some of the things that you enjoyed as a kid but kids today can’t. Believe it or not, going green is the only solution for the mess we’ve made for our next generation.
